The Dreadful Flu
On April 10th 2020, in the midst of a national lockdown due to the Covid19 pandemic, we received a series of letters through relatives which dated back to 1918. These letters were written by Andree Murray to her husband, Fred Luscome who was fighting in the world war. The contents of these letters describe the hardships faced by a farming community undergoing the influenza pandemic in the 1900’s. These parallels were strikingly similar.
